It is with great pleasure that I serve as Co-Counselor with Dr. Cook to a group of wonderful students who inspire me each day. It is my hope that they too, will be inspired from a book that we’ve read or a discussion we’ve had, to set goals for themselves and live out the dreams that they have for their lives!
This is my 11th year at MDRMS by way of Virginia; however, I am a West Virginia native. I graduated from Marshall University and am certified to teach children from PreK through 8th grades. I have concentration areas in Elementary Education and Middle Grades Language Arts and Social Sciences. I pursued a Master’s in Education in School Guidance and Counseling from the University of West Alabama. In my spare time, I enjoy all things spiritual, watching scary movies, and spending time with my family and friends.

It is with great joy that I, Dr. Jacqueline Cook, serve as the Professional School Counselor at M.D. Roberts Middle School. I have been professionally trained to be a school counselor receiving my BA in History and my MA in Counseling and Psychological Studies from Clark Atlanta University. I furthered my training receiving my Ed.S in Counseling and Supervision and my Ed.D in Counseling and Supervision from the University of West Georgia.
I have a personal philosophy to serve as a "Salty" counselor. Just as salt preserves food, adds flavor to food, and can cause a student to become thirsty, it is my job to preserve the minds of students, add a different flavor to the lives of all students I serve, and leave them thirsty for an education. Moreover, some individuals believe that salt has healing properties. It is the goal of this Salty Counselor to assist students with developing tools to heal their wounds and reach their academic, personal/social and career goals. I look forward to working with teachers, parents, and students serving as your Salty Counselor at M.D. Roberts School of the Arts.
