What Is Title I?

What is Title I?

M. D. Roberts School of the Arts is identified as a Title I school as part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Title I is designed to support state and local school reform efforts tied to challenging state academic standards in order to reinforce and enhance efforts to improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support parental involvement. All Title I schools must jointly develop with all parents a written parental involvement policy. M. D. Roberts School of the Arts jointly developed this Parental Involvement Policy with all stakeholders: parents, students, and school staff through a series of Title I meetings held in the spring of 2020. All stakeholders were given the opportunity to provide input through meetings, input forms, and comment cards. The plan was then revised according to this input that was received by ALL stakeholders.
